Recently we were delighted to welcome Archbishop Justin Welby to our Sunday morning service. He usually lives at Lambeth Palace in London, but when he is in residence here in Canterbury Diocese, he visits a local church for worship.
Our Reader, Isobel Legg, led the service, and Archbishop Justin preached and really encouraged us in our faith. He shared some tragic stories from Canada where he’d recently visited, about the Church’s injustices to first nation people. He acknowledged the importance of being honest about our past, and also helped us to focus ‘who do we follow?’ and keeping Christ as our vision.
It was a privilege to share this time of worship and fellowship together, and we continue to pray for him and his ministry.
