Welcome to the Afternoon Club!

First of all a little bit of information about the club. The club was started in June 2014, when the opportunity presented itself for meetings where adults could socialise on a regular basis. For want of a better name, we decided on The Afternoon Club but there is no formal membership, people come along whenever they are free.

You will see from the calendar the first session of the month providean opportunity for a social get together, chance to catch up with friends or make some new ones.Entertainment varies from month-to-month, and food is high on the agenda!

The second sessionis an informal illustrated talk on the subject of History of Art. Talks last approximately 40 minutes and are followed by tea and cake with an opportunity to discuss the talk or chat amongst yourselves. All you need to bring is an open mind; no knowledge necessary. The main point is to learn something new and have some fun.

So, now to details-

How often do we meet?

Twice a month during term time (six meetings in a term)

Do we have to attend every meeting?

No, you can pick and choose – but we hope you will want to come as often as possible!

How much does it cost?

There is no membership fee. We do not aim to make a profit. We need to cover costs so a Quiz, refreshments and raffle will cost the price of a strip of raffle tickets, £1. A Fish and Chip lunch with pudding is usually £6.50. We ask for a donation (£2) for the Art History talks with refreshments.
